Another year is almost over and this is a time many of us will look back on the year that once was. In 2010 there were some great designer handbags and so deciding which of these were the best ones will be a bit of a challenge. Of course, it is all very subjective, but here are my picks for the best designer handbags in 2010.

-    The Mulberry Winter collection 2010 contained some really stunning bags and certain gets my vote for some of the most interesting pieces of the year. Leopard designs played a huge part in many of the bag patterns, but this was given a unique Mulberry twist. These designer bags could be best described as a bit flirty and cheeky; something that might describe the mood in 2010.

-    Ralph Lauren had a good year with a collection of bags that provided lots of style and elegance. Leather was the main material used for these Ralph Lauren bags and this is a material that never seems to go out of fashion. The great thing about Ralph Lauren is that they can take themes from the past and make them seem modern and chic.

-    One of the real highlights of the year for me was the Gene designer handbag form Marc Jacobs. This option cost somewhere in the $2,500 range, but there is no doubting that it looks fabulous (for years to come). Marc Jacobs knows exactly what the rich and famous like to have on their shoulders and they tacked all the boxes with the Gene.

So there you have just some of my picks for the best designer handbags of 2010 – it really was a great year for new products and 2011 will be the same because it gets better and better.
